Directions for users of Public Transport
The main St Albans City Station provides the interchange for most local buses and the train service which supports Luton and Gatwick airport and St Pancras international for the EuroStar.
The station is about 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes in a taxi. Trains to St Pancras international run every 10-15 minutes and journey time is around 20 minutes. You can also take trains to Bedford, via Luton Airport and Brighton, via Gatwick Airport. See http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk to plan your journey through London.
Walking directions from City Station:
- Exit the station at the main entrance, platform 1, bear left and join Station Way.
- At the end of station way go left onto Hatfield Road, then at the lights go right onto Lemsford Road
- From Lemsford Road take the first left onto Manor Road, then first right onto Hillside Road
- At the end of Hillside Road go left onto Avenue Road.
- At the top of Avenue Road, go right onto Stonecross. The Old Pump House is across the road distinguishable by its large, arched window to the front.

Driving Directions Coming from M1 Northbound:
- Exit the M1 at J6A, M25 J21A
Take the A405 signed St Albans
Take 2nd exit at first roundabout, with a hotel on the far left and a petrol station in the immediate left
Go straight over the mini-roundabout
At the major roundabout take the A5138, Watling Street, towards St Albans
Go right at the mini roundabout with a pub directly in front and continue on the A5138 into St Albans Centre
Straight on at the next mini roundabout, and continue up the hill
Straight through the lights at the top of Holywell Hill
Carry straight on passing the market place to the left
At the mini roundabout with Allied Carpets ahead on the right continue straight on up St Peter's Street
Ahead see Devdas restaurant where the road forks left to Harpenden A1081 and right to Sandridge B651
Take the right-hand fork, this stretch of road is actually called Stonecross, before the name changes to Sandridge Road
You will find us at 1A Stonecross, just after a small group of modern houses on the left immediately at the back of Devdas
General parking is available on street, or alternatively there is an NCP facility on the corner of Townsend Avenue, the right turning before the fork in the road.

Driving Directions Coming from M1 Southbound:
- Exit at J9 - signed St Albans, A5183
Follow this road until you reach a roundabout. Take 2nd exit, continuing on A5183.
Continue straight on until the next roundabout, where you take the 1st exit, still A5183
At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit, straight on, to St Albans, this is now the A4147
As the road forks ahead, keep to the left, signed Hatfield, Folly Lane which then becomes Catherine Street
At the end of Catherine Street you will come to a mini roundabout, Allied Carpets will be on the left. Take the first exit. This is St Peters Street. You will see a large Church, ahead and to the right.
Ahead see Devdas restaurant where the road forks left to Harpenden A1081 and right to Sandridge B651. Take the right-hand fork, this stretch of road is actually called Stonecross, before the name changes to Sandridge Road
The Old Pump House is the first building facing right onto the street on Stonecross, just after a small group of modern houses on the left immediately at the back of Devdas. The building is distinguishable by its large, arched window to the front.
General parking is available, free of charge, on the surrounding residential streets. Alternatively there is an NCP facility on the corner of Townsend Avenue, the turning to the right before where the road forks to Harpenden or Sandridge.

Driving Directions Coming from M25 Westbound:
- Exit the motorway at J22, A1081, signed St Albans
At the first roundabout, intersection with the A414, take the 3rd exit, A1081, to St Albans
At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit, straight on, remaining on the A1081
Go straight over, 2nd exit, at the next mini roundabout (where the station is signed to the right)
At the next mini roundabout take the right hand turning, onto Alma Road
At the end of Alma road go straight over at the lights, onto Beaconsfield Road
At the end of Beaconsfield road, go straight over at the lights, onto Lemsford Road
At the end of Lemsford road, go left, onto Sandpit Lane
At the end of Sandpit lane, go left, this is Stonecross. Ahead and on the right hand side of the road you will see the Jolly Sailor Pub. The Old Pump House is 2 doors down from the pub, distinguishable by its large, arched window to the front.
General parking is available, free of charge, on the surrounding residential streets. Alternatively there is an NCP facility on the corner of Townsend Avenue. To get to the NCP drive to the end of Stonecross, bearing left and joining St Peter's Street. Townsend Avenue is the first left.
Driving Directions Coming from M25 Eastbound:
- Exit the motorway at J21A, A405, signed St Albans and M1 South
Follow the directions given for coming from M1 Northbound, above, from point 2.

Follow the A414 until you reach a large roundabout, the intersection with the A1081. Take the 4th exit, onto the A1081, Signed St Albans
